When South Pacific opened on Broadway in 1949, it won 10 Tony® Awards. As it was revived by Lincoln Center in 2008, it won seven more and has been sold out since its first preview. Now you can see this stunning Rogers and Hammerstein masterpiece on a very special trip.

Patrons of our popular theater trips often ask why we don’t offer more of them. It’s because we prefer to offer excursions only when the best seats at the best shows can be acquired.

That is why it is a privilege to announce that we have organized a first-class trip to Los Angeles to see the stunning revival of “South Pacific” on Saturday, July 17. Many of our customers have traveled to New York to see this production at Lincoln Center– and now we’re pleased to offer front orchestra seating as the production’s national tour reaches Los Angeles.

Many declare that “South Pacific” is one of the greatest American musicals ever written, because it captured a time, a place, a conflict and an unprecedented subject – race relations – in a glorious and uplifting score that informs as it entertains. To make this trip even more unique, we have included a private walking tour of The Music Center before the show.

Our ambition is to create delight throughout the trip, and we will strive to do so from the time we offer you a morning newspaper with chilled French Champagne – then our surprise gifts – to the moment we personally thank you as we return home. We intend the day to be effortless and enjoyable. Please join us. Our itinerary:

8:30 a.m. Sharp. With an exciting day ahead, we will leave from our offices at 991 North Blackstone Street (at Merritt Avenue) in Tulare. Free parking will be available. We will travel nonstop to Los Angeles, serving a catered breakfast of summer fruits and deli items. As always, signature Executive Travel mimosas will be offered – but we’ll also serve Bloody Mary shots in a tribute to the show’s forceful grass skirt seller.

About Noon. After we arrive at The Los Angeles County Music Center, we’ll celebrate its history, dating to 1964, with a private walking tour of its grounds and its buildings including the lobby of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. (Because of rehearsals, tours do not see the Disney auditorium.)

2 p.m. In some of the finest front-orchestra seats at the Ahmanson Theater, we’ll attend the Lincoln Center Theater revival of “South Pacific” and travel through time with songs such as “Bali Ha’i,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” “Younger than Springtime” and “I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy.”

About 5:15 p.m. We will venture on to a midsummer night at The Grove, the dining and shopping center adjacent to the historic Farmer’s Market in west Los Angeles – where someone always spies familiar San Joaquin Valley names in the farm-fresh products being offered to urban Angelinos. Enjoy dinner (not included) – at an historic stand or at one of many new restaurants on scene. For your convenience, we will reserve a table at 6 p.m. at any restaurant listed below.

Morels French Steakhouse (Trendy European Bistro)
Farm of Beverly Hills (American/Californian)
The Whisper (Tribute to Hollywood Supper Clubs)
Maggiano’s Little Italy (Traditional Family Italian)

8 p.m. Sharp. Just as the sun sets low, it will be time go, enjoying California wine and a chocolate treat on the way back to Tulare. Our estimated arrival is about 11:15 p.m.

Our tour is $239 per person. For more information or to make reservations, please call 559-685-8000 or contact us here.
